Strategic Marine Alliance for Research and Training (SMART) survey coordinated by Marine Renewable Energy Ireland (MaREI) and Galway-Mayo Institute Technology (GMIT) in Cork Harbour. The objectives of the training programme are to: 1. Introduce new MaREI interns to the concept of conducting site surveys offshore. 2. Develop students capacity to analyse the morphodynamics of coastal systems and the hydrodynamic behavior of the marine environment 3. Build on the learners’ theoretical understanding providing them with the practical skills relevant to their field of study including knowledge of ship operations and data collection and analysis techniques. 4. Provide students with the knowledge necessary to design plan and execute an offshore site survey.
